Last Bow End of the night. - Look on black.

As the bow got lower we walked to the top of the hill in the scrub in the breeze that was starting. I chose not to light the foreground I left it to the Moon, to see this result best you look on black with no white screen.. It was case of pack up all our camera and lighting gear and put the Swags together next to the car in the carpark on the ground. We both slept soundly got the swag put away early before any body came next morning. No one knew we had even been there.

We Left a lot of foot prints took a whole load of photos.. Enjoy.

A wonderful capture Steve I think it was a good choice not to light the foreground it would have spoilt the effect, the amount of stars is amazing when you get away from light pollution, 3 generations ago a sky full of stars would have been normal as you sat gazing out of the privy

Steve Paxton replied to Peter Castell:

This far away from city lights and town lights the sky reminded me of my childhood on the tropical island, Nothing but stars at night as far as the eye could see. You would be correct that three generations ago would have been very different. All the changes we have see not all have been good. Here in Perth there is a push to stop too much lighting in the hope of preserving the dark skies we have. The moon light just enough the camera saw as I saw it on the night, many thanks.

This is not a shot I would normally do with no lighting but for the moon light on the ground showed quite strongly. This is best only viewed full size to see the result of the moon. Glad you enjoyed the shot as well.

Steve Paxton replied to Herb Riddle:

This shot was the very last I did on the weekend quite late at night with all gear having to go back to the car which was a good few trips. David also did his last shot much the same as I did which really just capped off the weekend away to get shot like this. I enjoyed the weekend immensely the chance to do what I enjoy and to have some one like minded as well. It was quite a weekend away cloud and rain during the day but nights clear perfectly as predicted could not have asked for better and thankfully weather stayed as predicted.

Glad you like the shot in all I think the new lens for its first time away did exactly as I wanted it to do perfectly. I look forward to a few more weekends away...
