Very sad to see this, Steve. Yes, the grasses and grass trees will rebound, but so much is yet to come back. Let's hope it does, for a HFF!

I have kept away from this area so as not to be able to be anything but surprised at what I see. I am a little shocked in 7 months all the rains we have had so little . loose the winter grass not a hell of a lot of growth out there . its true the over powering smell of smoke has gone but it so much of a barren landscape. I am sure there is very little life out in those threes at all. no birds no calls no movement.

I have to say I do hope we do not get bad firs this year, Australia seems to being burnt out bit by bit state by state. I truly had hope it would look better , HFF from the west you keep safe.

Have you heard of the terrible fires in California? It must be just as terrible there in the forests of the national parks and into the cities

The power of nature ...

Even nature will take time to recover from such devistating fires Steve, but nature is working at it,

A long slow recovery process Steve although at least the grass is growing well and some of the trees are showing some colour at last. It must be hard to go back there though when the devestation from the fires is still quite evident and it must be heartbreaking not to see or hear any sign of birds in the area. Let's hope for a better year all round.

Being in the midst of our worst-yet wildfires in California, I too wish this would look more regenerated, but as others have said, it takes time, yet nature will bounce back.

That devastated place is healing slowly. The fence remains the same. HFF, Steve!

A great comparison shot Steve. It looks like tings are progressing but the real bush will take longer. Hopefully they will recover too.
