Small stream

by Ronald Losure
There was a lot of rain in recent days, causing my pond to overflow. This is the intermittent stream below the pond.

Ronald.. we had a precious 1/2" yesterday. We have been dust dry.

Love that stream !

I usually mow my pond ! (its 10 feet deep ) this is what happened when we had flooding 4 years ago.

It took me a year to repair the rip outs the post talks about. And the pond is now mowed again !

Ronald Losure replied to Pam J:

Thanks, Pam. This is what is supposed to happen with this pond. My oldest neighbors say this pond was old when they were children. Over the decades, beavers made tunnels through the dam, so it would never fill. I had one of my neighbors repair the dam (including a spillway) a year ago. We had a little over 3 inches of rain the last few days, which really isn't unusual here.

looks cold ... excellent LE effect !

Ronald Losure replied to Nora Caracci:

No, not cold, Nora. The high temperature this day was +24℃. Maybe tonight the temperature will fall below 0℃. I reduced the ISO rating on my camera to get the slow exposure time. Holding the camera steady was not easy.
