Near the former mouth of the Buttahatchee River. When the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway (canal) was built in the 1960s, this part of the rivers was bypassed.

Thank you, Doug, Patrick & micritter. Yes, it is a very calm place. There are a few recreational boaters here on weekends, but it is far away from the traffic on the canal.
