Zuri: ADOPTED

Young Zuri is a seven- to eight-month-old beauty who assumes everyone who visits our home comes to see her. Zuri greets visitors at the door and gladly welcomes loving. She'll cuddle with anyone who allows her to crawl into his or her arms. Zuri is spayed, vaccinated against rabies, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She has been living with other cats and dogs. Zuri doesn't like other cats getting into her space and will whack anyone who enters her personal space, but she isn't overtly aggressive. She welcomes humans in her personal space basking in loving and scritches. Adoption fee: $30.

Welby & Fargo (ADOPTION UNDERWAY)

These adorable three-month-old youngters were trapped outside a local bank. Fargo is all black with an extra six toes, a precious boy who melts into loving arms. His sister has an extra-special gentleness and trust, never having met a stranger. Welby had a broken paw when trapped, so she has spent weeks in a splint. She will on occasion limp a bit if she overdoes it, but the leg has healed wonderfully well (she had contused her radial nerve but that recovered). Fargo is neutered, and Welby will be spayed Thanksgiving week. Both have been dewormed and vaccinated against rabies. Adoption fee: $60 for the pair.

Grace & Gideon (ADOPTED)

These youngsters were trapped by a dumpster at a gas station when they were around fourteen weeks old. While they were completely feral, both had a confidence that lent itself to socialization. Gideon now adores humans and throws himself at my feet for loving. Gideon is a gentle giant (he's going to be a big boy) who lays down submissively when another cat baps him. He's quick to purr and can eat and eat and eat. Gideon's sister Grace is more reserved. She loves to play and loves to eat. Grace doesn't hide, but she still is learning to accept handling. Currently there is only food available to her when a human is present, and Grace gets pet while she eats. At times she purrs and headbutts my hand for more loving, but she isn't crawling in my lap like Gideon. Gideon is neutered, and Grace is spayed. Both have been vaccinated against rabies. They are negative for FIV and FeLV. Adoption fee: $50 for the pair.

Dublin (Adoption Pending)

Dublin is a BIG BOY. He's a solid twelve pounds, but certainly not overweight. This handsome tuxedo boy was living life eating out of a gas station dumpster, but obviously someone had loved him in his past. Dublin quickly adjusted to indoor living, and he does fine with dogs. Dublin is a dominant male but lives fine with other cats that don't challenge his self-appointed role. Dublin has been neutered, dewormed, and vaccinated against rabies. He tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Adoption fee: $30.

Gretel

Gretel is just a year old now. This young beauty was born in a shed overrun with felines. She loves humans and affection but gets anxious around other felines. Gretel has been spayed and vaccinated against rabies as well as dewormed and treated for fleas. She has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Gretel is seeking a warm, safe, loving forever home. Adoption fee: $40.

Bosley (ADOPTED)

Beautiful buff boy Bosley is approximately a year old and longs for a warm, safe, loving forever home. Bosley has been neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, and vaccinated against rabies. He tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Bosley does great with the dogs in the foster home, and he does fine with most other felines. However, Bosley can get in tussles with other males in particular. He does also occasionally entertain himself by picking on a couple of females. Bosley loves to cuddle, and he is quite fond of food. Adoption fee: $40.

Zamboni

Zamboni was born on 9/22/09 to an adolescent pregnant stray (Vidalia). He was adopted once but returned to our home after the adoptive family decided they weren't able to care for Zamboni. He is fixed and up-to-date on their rabies vaccination. Zamboni returned to our home morbidly obese. He has lost over five pounds but is still overweight. Zamboni will require a family committed to portion control. Zamboni is accustomed to living with other cats and dogs and happily sleeps all night on our bed. Adoption fee: $30.

Heidi

Heidi was trapped as a pregnant feral feline. After her kittens found homes, we released outdoors at the foster farm. An injury brought her to the doorstep, and Heidi found herself readily adapting to indoor living. . .
Here's a link to Heidi's story: www.ipernity.com/blog/wee3beasties/494009
Adoption fee: $25.

Curio

In this case Curiosity didn't kill the cat. Curiosity IS the cat. Curio was dumped in the country as a youngster. By the time he showed up at a friendly farm, he had a nasty nasal discharge. When I took Curio into our home, I hoped that we could treat his infection and readily find him a new home. After all, he is an incredibly personable, outgoing feline. However, the underlying sinus infection never cleared. Weeks of antibiotics could clear up the secondary infection, but his chronic drippy nose continued. And we quickly found out failure to give Curio twice-daily lysine and twice-daily steambaths led to repeat bacterial sinus infections. Looking at Curio, you would have no idea he has any sinus issues. But we maintained his regimen to keep him free from any drainage, occasionally giving short breaks to see if the drainage recurs. Finally, Curio doesn't need steambaths. Yay! We are trying him off lysine now, and so far so good. Adoption fee: $50.

Mr. Grigsby

Mr. Grigsby is another gregarious, outgoing fellow. People who visit to choose a home often fall in love with his handsome looks, outgoing personality, and soft fur. However, he will need a special home. After all, Mr. Grigsby is allergic to standard cat food. He can have limited ingredient duck and pea without difficulty or, what we feed him, is ground up chicken from a pet food deli. Of note, it isn't as simple as that. Why not? Mr. Grigsby is food obsessed. He will go after any food in the sink and even has figured out ways to open cabinets (now all have magnets holding them closed). This boy will tear into bags of anything left on the counter. We do our best to keep Mr. Grigsby away from anything that will cause him to react, but he manages to get into something every three to five months or so. When it happens, he needs to have a steroid. His face swells and his paws swell. His lips ulcerate. If Mr. Grigsby doesn't get a steroid in time, his paw pads crack and his paws become secondarily infected from walking in the litterbox. Yep, it's best to catch it early. Mr. Grigsby would require a home that had ready access to medical care for him. An organized kitchen would be a must, one where nothing is left out for him to devour. With all that said, Mr. Grigsby is worth all the extra effort. Adoption fee: $50.

MoMo

MoMo is our only declawed feline in the house. He arrived that way. MoMo, now approximately 7 years old, was found dodging cars scrounging for food in a grocery store parking lot. MoMo is a very quirky boy although his OCD tendencies are mellowing with age. MoMo does not want to live with other adult males (he will spray). He also at times prefers to use wee-wee pads over litterboxes. That has lessened with time, but MoMo still falls into a special needs category due to his unusual litter habits. MoMo lives in his own room in our home (apart from other adult males). Thankfully, he enjoys female company as well as kittens. His room is our "kitten room" whenever we have kittens available for adoption in our home. Adoption fee: $50.

Jing

Jing will be available one day. This handsome fella with a snowshoe coat and gorgeous blue eyes is adjusting to indoor living, and we hope to have him properly socialized in a couple of months. Jing loves, loves, LOVES other cats and will do best with feline company. He has been netuered, dewormed, vaccinated against rabies, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

We have a new trio of cats that are being prepared to seek warm, safe, loving forever homes. Mavis will have to wait until she is spayed (we want to be sure she isn't pregnant). Her two nearly-adult kittens are Winifred and Phineas. All three are long-haired beauties.
