Dear members and friends of ipernity,
1) We regret the interruption in operations last weekend. However, we are very pleased that our IT service partner Qwellcode GmbH (Salzkotten, Germany) provided us with a maintenance slot at short notice. Nevertheless, the reactivation took almost 24 hours due to the large amount of data to be synchronised and the server computing time required.
We ask for your understanding that, for technical reasons, such synchronisations of the data inventory cannot be done faster with the database structure we operate on the underlying hardware architecture. We would like to point out to you that no data transfered during the interuption has been lost.
2) The migration of the upload server to a faster hardware failed, because this is incompatible with the software we use. We therefore have to be content with the current hardware and the upload speeds that can be achieved with it. However, our website runs stably with this. Further technical improvement measures are not scheduled.
3) A campaign to win back retiring club members, which has been running since October 2019, was completed. Out of 360 former Club members, 84 (23%) renewed their membership. The accounts of the others were purged of content that exceeded the guest account limit. This saved 5.8 TBytes of storage space, corresponding to 2,828 EUR in annual savings. We consider the transition process of the membership types to be finished now.
4) With the end of this campaign, the warning messages previously sent to retiring club members will no longer be sent. However, we are extending the period for permanent deletion of excess content to 6 months. (See clause 7.2 of the Terms of Use.)
5) As already communicated, we will now focus on attracting new club members. To ease their entry,
This offer is valid as of today for newly registered members. It is limited until the end of July 2021.
Your ima team

So the "retiring members" campaign was a great success. Well done.
The 70% discount seems to me an excellent news for the attractiveness of the site.
Have a nice weekend.

Personally speaking, I feel that Ipernity does need to build some reserves for such hiccoughs, as our outdated and overly complex software is likely to break again in the future.
Ideally, I think we need to consider revitalising the "reprogramming" fund - but the amount we need for professionals is not "small change" ...
