Dear members and friends of ipernity,
1) Today, a long-planned hardware upgrade of the upload server was to be carried out by our IT service provider Innovations ON. Regrettably, this upgrade turned out to be more difficult than expected. The work will therefore be continued at another time.
2) There will be another scheduled hardware maintenance by Amazon Web Service (AWS) on Monday 26, April 2021. This should normally take place without any downtime of our website.
3) Troubleshooting of the 'Replace' function is still in progress. The replacement of files that do not generate thumbnails (*.doc, *.pdf, *.xls, *.zip, . . .) is already possible. But *.jpg, *png, *gif, etc. files still cause problems.
4) On our homepage we have replaced the Easter pictures with spring pictures. We would like to thank the photographers who provided the images. Here you can find the complete spring collection.
5) For future image proposals, we ask you to pay more attention to the Layout Guidelines for Frontpage Pictures.
6) To further clean up the ipernity portfolio of groups that have been abandoned by their administrators, the working team Groupbusters has been formed, supported by the ima team. If you notice any neglected groups, please report them to this team. The same applies to dispensable groups on the same topic.
7) In the course of its work, this team surprisingly discovered that an option offered in the group administration menu had never been functional. This was the option for the administrator to review proposed contributions within a period of 7 days. Obviously this option had never been programmed. As a result proposal queues have formed in more than 500 neglected groups. The Groupbusters working team has earmarked these groups for occasional treatment and removed this administration option.
8) We kindly ask you to use the administrator function of reviewing proposals before publishing them in groups only with utmost restraint. Too often, queues are formed because administrators do not find enough time in the long run to maintain the groups appropriate. Please bear in mind that it can be very frustrating if ipernity members want to post something but nothing happens for weeks.
Your ima team

As a result of this compromise, the number of free guest accounts has shrunk from 214,000 (2017) to currently 7,600 with a further downward trend. The costs for guest accounts have been reduced from 10,830 EUR per year (2017) to 790 EUR per year (2020). They will drop to less than 500 EUR by the end of 2021. The existence of free guest accounts was deemed essential in 2018 to compete with Flickr, Fotocommunity and others. With total annual costs for our website amounting to EUR 42,000 per year (expectation 2021), the remaining EUR 500 for guest accounts is no longer a noteworthy burden. In return, the guests provide us with about 500,000 pictures free of charge, some of them in excellent quality. This enriches ipernity's content and contributes to its attractiveness.
Implementing the agreed membership types into the existing ipernity software was a time-consuming process, involving several hundreds of programming hours. Although subsequent amendments would probably be much less time-consuming, they would still not be possible without any effort. Modification requests must be weighed up whether the financial benefit to be achieved is higher than the programming effort to be invested for this.
Of course, such a discussion is welcome at any time.

Il faudrait également que les membres qui proposent des photos dans des groupes s'informent un peu mieux sur les conditions définies par l'administrateur.
Sinon, merci à l'équipe pour son travail et sinon implication.

In the meantime, picture suggestions are linked to the homepage of the member who made the suggestion. This allows group administrators and /or moderators to see who in the group might be suggesting images that don't comply with the group rules, and to ask them to be more careful. The other option is to allow image selection - at least for a certain time - only by the administrator(s) of a group.
Edit
But you may be talking about those group members who do not comply with the groups' specifications with their own images.
