Application to be part of the ipernity team (please read this comment!)

I can imagine running as a moderator. However, I am not able to fulfil all the tasks that have to be fulfilled as a moderator according to the ima statutes (see "ARTICLE VII - THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, paragraph 1E").
Therefore, I am now looking for you as another moderator member!

Some club members had already remarked that they have too little time to do a task here. My assumption is that this is due to the amount of work that the respective office holder has to do (this also applies to the other offices!). I think it would be easier if the tasks were divided between more than one person. And I think under such circumstances more people would be willing to fill an office - if they just don't have to do it alone.

So I am willing to serve as a moderator with other club members.

I can think of the following tasks as possible for me:
- Answering general enquiries from members (tickets)
- Processing reports of inappropriate content
- Checking approval of pictures for the gallery
- Removal of spam

Provided there is a list of new members and I don't have to try to find it myself also:
- Officially welcoming new members in their guestbook and via ipern-mail.

I have been using ipernity as a paying member practically continuously since 27 July 2007 and have corresponding experience of where somewhat hidden functions are sometimes hidden on this website, or what is possible here and what is not. Accordingly, I think I could answer corresponding questions of other members via ticket, etc.
In the early years (under the "old" ipernity") I was part of the translation team that translated ipernity from English into German.

If you look at my account, you might get the impression that I'm no longer active here - that's currently true as far as uploading public documents is concerned, yes. Every now and then I upload photos for friends etc., or photos that are only shown to me (e.g. family photos etc.). But even if I don't upload so many visible photos, I'm logged in here every few days, take care of the groups I'm in charge of, look at other people's photos and take part in club life in other ways - even if it's just commenting on the club news ;-)

Time-wise, I can take care of these tasks about every two or three days. This also shows that it would be helpful if other people could be found with whom I can share the workload.

Therefore I call on you - become part of the moderation team ;-) Together, the quite extensive work is surely feasible...?

Je peux imaginer me présenter comme modérateur. Cependant, je ne suis pas en mesure de remplir toutes les fonctions d'un modérateur selon les statuts d'ima (voir "ARTICLE VII - LE CONSEIL D'ADMINISTRATION, paragraphe 1E").
Par conséquent, je vous cherche maintenant pour être un autre modérateur - membre !

Certains membres du club avaient déjà fait remarquer qu'ils n'avaient pas assez de temps pour effectuer une tâche ici. Je pense que cela est dû à la quantité de travail que le titulaire doit accomplir (il en va de même pour les autres postes !). Je pense que ce serait plus facile si les tâches étaient réparties entre plus d'une seule personne. Et je pense que davantage de personnes seraient prêtes à occuper un poste dans de telles circonstances - si elles n'avaient pas à le faire seules.

Je serais donc heureux de servir de modérateur avec d'autres membres du club.

Je peux imaginer les tâches suivantes comme des tâches possibles pour moi :
- Répondre aux demandes de renseignements généraux des membres (billets).
- Traitement des rapports sur les contenus inappropriés
- Vérification de l'approbation des photos pour la galerie
- Suppression du spam

Pourvu qu'il y ait une liste des nouveaux membres et que je n'aie pas à essayer de la trouver moi-même :
- Accueillir officiellement les nouveaux membres dans leur livre d'or et par le biais de la messagerie ipernity.

J'utilise ipernity depuis le 27 juillet 2007 en tant que membre payant et j'ai une certaine expérience des fonctions cachées sur ce site, ou de ce qui est possible et de ce qui ne l'est pas. De même, je pense pouvoir répondre aux questions des autres membres par le biais de tickets, etc.
Au cours des premières années (sous l'"ancien" ipernity), je faisais partie de l'équipe de traduction qui a traduit ipernity de l'anglais à l'allemand.

Si vous consultez mon compte, vous pourriez avoir l'impression que je ne suis plus actif ici - c'est actuellement vrai en ce qui concerne le téléchargement de documents publics, oui. De temps en temps, je télécharge des photos pour des amis, etc., ou des photos qui ne sont montrées qu'à moi (par exemple, des photos de famille, etc.). Mais même si je ne télécharge pas beaucoup de photos visibles, je me connecte ici tous les deux ou trois jours, je m'occupe des groupes dont je suis responsable, je regarde les photos des autres et je participe à la vie du club - même si ce n'est qu'en commentant les nouvelles du club ;-)

En termes de temps, je peux m'occuper de ces tâches tous les deux ou trois jours. Cela montre également qu'il serait utile de trouver d'autres personnes avec lesquelles je pourrais partager la charge de travail.

C'est pourquoi je vous appelle - faites partie de l'équipe de modération ;-) L'ensemble des travaux assez importants est sûrement bien réalisable... ?

Having someone else working with you always helps, nice have someone to share the responsibilities.

As a co-administrator of a couple of groups, I know it is far less stressful to have two of us dealing with the responsibilities that come with the job.

Yes, that's another advantage of a worldwide community, besides the fact that it would be easier for people to get support in their mother tongue. Many things are easier to explain when you speak the same language. :)

Lieber Stefan, Laura wird sich über Unterstützung ebenso freuen, wie ich micht freue. Und ich unterstütze euch gerne dabei, eine solche Gruppe aufzubauen. Es gibt lediglich ein Problem: Wir haben nur eine einzige Zugangsmöglichkeit zur Datenbank, das sogenannte Admin-Tool. Dies beinhaltet weitestgehende Rechte. Wer das Passwort hat, hat den Generalschlüssel für alles, wirklich alles. Das ist sowohl datenschutzrechtlich heikel, als auch im Hinblick auf die Betriebssicherheit. Deshalb hatten diesen Generalschlüssel bisher nur die Mitglieder des ima-Teams.

Aber es gibt auch Aufgaben, die ohne diesen Generalschlüssel gemacht werden können. Sobald wir den Vorbereitungsstress der Sitzung hinter uns haben, kann ich das auseinandersortieren. Außerdem haben wir innerhalb des ima-Teams sowieso nie eisern an den Tätigkeitsbeschreibungen geklebt haben. Insofern ist beispielsweise denkbar, dass das Moderationstema sich auch um Aufgaben des Vize-Präsidenten kümmert, der wiederum den Schatzmeister vertritt. Wir müssen halt schauen, was machbar ist. Ich habe Deinen Namen und die Idee jedenfalls notiert.

Das es teamintern diese strikte Trennung bisher nicht gab halte ich grundsätzlich für zielführend, ja. Dazu hatte mir raingirl auch noch eine etwas erläuternde ipermail gesendet.

Wenn ich das richtig einschätze braucht man diesen Zugang zum admintool aber doch nur, um abzufragen, wer sich neu angemeldet hat, oder? Beispielsweise Tickets müsste man doch einfach an einen ipernity-Account schicken können, den dann eben mehrere Personen gemeinsam nutzen? So war jedenfalls meine bisherige Vermutung, aber vielleicht liege ich auch gänzlich falsch damit. Ist halt schwer, wenn man nicht den kompletten Hintergrund der Webseite kennt. ;-)
Aber ganz generell stelle ich fest, dass ich doch etwas freie Zeit habe, da es leider für mich nicht realistisch erscheint, zeitnah einen neuen Job in der realen Welt da draussen antreten zu können, und ob ich einfach ziellos durch die weiten des Webs surfe oder was dann wenigstens produktives für ipernity mache macht für mich keinen wirklich grossen Unterschied. Was bei mir halt im Moment so gar nicht geht, dass ich draussen fotografiere - ich befinde mich quasi seit März letzten Jahres in Selbstisolation und gehe nur noch zum einkaufen nach draussen - und so langsam brauche ich einfach was, mit dem ich die nun doch vorhandene Zeit füllen kann - zumal sich die Situation absehbar wohl eher nicht ändern wird. Jja, da bin ich in Deutschland mittlerweile echt nicht mehr optimistisch - aber das ist echt ein anderes Thema.

Thank you so so much for being willing to help with the work of moderation!! That is great news.

But I am not elected yet! However, if I am elected, I will be happy to connect with you to help share the work as best we can (as Bernhard has mentioned, there are legal reasons for not sharing certain work outside of the team itself.

I already have ideas of projects we could work on (some not directly related to the moderation job, but potentially very helpful to ipernity moving forward).

It was just a general request whether one could perhaps avoid a "fighting candidacy against each other" and instead stand for election as a joint moderation team. After all, it wouldn't do anyone any good, given the small number of people who are willing to get involved in ipernity in this way, if they had to choose between two candidates instead of simply voting for or against both candidates together. One could still keep open the possibility that in the event that the joint team does not receive the necessary majority of votes, the candidates can then stand for election again as individual candidates.
I can't find anything in our statutes that would speak against this, so you would probably first have to get a vote from the assembly that you can stand for election as a team.

As my colleagues say, the division of tasks and responsibilities within ima is as flexible as our need for cooperation, and for geographical distribution - in this case, Pam and William's collaboration from the start made our work really easier.
