Many years ago I wanted a photo metadata editor for Linux so that I could easily caption my photos and plonk them on a map to set their location. I didn't find what I wanted so I wrote one and called it Photini (and it runs on Linux, Windows, and MacOS). It's evolved and grown over the years, and I'm rather pleased with how it's turned out. If you want to know more you can read the documentation.
A Photini user mentioned Ipernity to me a few months ago. I've since discovered that it has a fairly simple API so I thought I might add an Ipernity uploader to Photini. (It already has uploaders for Flickr and Google Photos.) This week I finally got round to doing it. It's still a bit rough around the edges but it seems to work quite well. Here's a screenshot.
Like many people I'm increasingly frustrated with Flickr for a variety of reasons. Will I make Ipernity my new home? Will I run accounts on both? I haven't decided. I do need to find out if my uploader will work on a "guest" account though.
