New designs for my jewellry
I thought I'd explain why there are some strange pieces on today's blog. I had some really lovely colours for decorations, and some tiny metal items to add to the design. I hadn't realised that women now like decorating their nails nowadays, and so there are lots of things that fit beautifully into my jewellry. I honestly never considered getting the dried flowers and decorations from a shop which sold items for nail decorations.

Usually I have cabochons (the casings) with only one loop, for the necklace to go through, but inadvertantly I had ordered some cabochons and they had double loops (top and bottom). Ooh er I thought!! what do I do now? So I had to make my mind work! Now that's not something it's used to doing lately - but I came up with an idea. I thought I'd join the items together and make a bracelet!!!

I thought I'd make a pattern that resembled (?) the sea - I even had tiny metallic shells in the decorations I had from the nail shop. Well I had a spare one left over but I also had some smaller items, so I used my brain again (honestly it's going to need revitalizing tonight!), and thought that I could join them together....

and with the other little ones - I made matching earrings...

Well that took care of this afternoon. I've got lots of the double looped cases, so I'll experiment more. I just thought you lot might like to see what this old lady gets up to in the afternoon, when the Tour de France hasn't started, nor the F1 Grand Prix. I have been "binge watching" Stranger Things! What a thrilling series. Being housebound, I've got to keep my brain working and also keep myself occupied. I'm thinking of maybe finishing off my patchwork quilts. I'll just see how I feel with each day.

I wish you all a great week (what's left of it) and a wonderful weekend to come. I do realise that the weather is really warm for you - but I tell you, I must live in a totally separate eco-system, because I still have to wear a cardigan in the evening and the temperatures are only reaching 18C in the daytime and dropping down to 12C in the evening. It's July in two days time for heaven's sake!!!

Wow thats chilly for this time of year.. But still better than 30+! Those are some lovely design's and I imagine that set would make someone very happy. You should rent one of the booths for a day like the Christmas market. Even if someone did the selling for you and you split the £ Bet you'd sell.most if not all! If there was a consignment shop nearby that would be perfect! Once again, great.job!

Oh thanks Gracie. I keep saying that I'm going to sell them, get someone to help me sort them out and catalogue them, but I just can't sort myself out for them.

Those are really nice Jenny.

Cool here too, most days. My son is still in long sleeve tops, and in the evenings I wear a fleecy in the house. I feel the cold these days, must be getting old lol

Thanks Fran. Yes I have to put on a cardigan on in the evening. I'm pleased I've managed to open the window a bit in the lounge (to get some fresh air in) but by the time the sun has moved away from the window around 6pm, I have to close it, otherwise I start shivering with the temps down a lot. It's stupid isn't it? I'm already an old woman - and I don't move a lot, maybe that's why it's affecting me so much.

Lovely, Jenny !

Those are really beautiful ...
You are definitely very talented and inventive with your crafts, as I've said before !

May I suggest etsy ? I am told that is a website specialising more in the "crafts" side than other auction sites. Your images on here are better than some I've seen in other places and should work well. With the ability to have the Postman collect parcels form you ...

Oh thanks so much, you are so kind to say so. Yes I've thought of Etsy, but to be honest I find the thought of cataloguing them, (not having a clue what to charge for each of them), packing them up and then posting them away, fills me with dread. I think this situation with my brain has made decisions like this a thing of terror. I've got a new phone (my son's old one) and it requires a mini-micro sim card, which I have, but I have to contact O2 about keeping my old number. I just can't phone them - and it's been almost 3 years!!! I never used to be like this - I would sort out all sorts of problems without any fuss, but now anything like that fills me with dread. I don't understand myself at times!!!

Wow, can't believe how cold you still are in July! We are in the dead of summer here in Florida with the typically hot Florida days! I've been getting used to it, though. It greatly helps to have an energy efficient house and good air conditioning! Your jewelry is beautiful!

Yes we were quite cold for the beginning of July, but I do think we have our very own eco-system down here in the South West. Whilst the rest of the country bask in high temps, we are around 10C degrees cooler, mind you in the winter - we are about 10C higher and very very rarely have any snow!!! So that's a good thing.

I'm so pleased to hear that you and your husband are happy that you have an energy efficient house and good air conditioning in your new place. Thanks for saying that about my jewellry - it keeps me occupied,
