Well today I awoke to blue skies!!! What a difference it makes. You really want to get up and seize the day! Just outside my bedroom window is the cherry tree - and this is what I could see!!
I couldn't believe it - the winter had seemed to stay around so long, I almost couldn't remember it being warm and sunny. I got all excited and had an idea of going outside, with my trolley and go to the tree and take close-up pictures of it. The rest of the garden doesn't have anything yet - maybe a few leaves starting to erupt, but nothing else. So I got all ready to go out, and as soon as I opened the back door - wow!!!!!!!!! It was baltic. The temperature was around 4C (40F)!!! That sorted that out - I closed the door and went to the window and took my pictures from inside!!!! Okay I know I was a coward, but I can't move very fast and therefore I get cold quickly and the last thing I want is to come down with a cold or anything else. On Thursday I had my hair cut, so there isn't all that much hair to keep my head warm!!
Despite these pictures were taken from indoors, I'm not too disappointed with them. I really would have liked to have gone outside and taken pictures from next to the tree, but it really was way too cold. Meanwhile, I did notice (from the kitchen window) that some bluebells have started to flower! I think I saw a couple on Thursday when I came home from the hairdressers, but now I'll go outside, (quickly) and take some pictures on the drive. Easier than going on to the lawn.
I wish I'd been able to walk around the shop which is where the hairdresser's put, but Anne had to get back home quickly to look after her grandson. It was the first trip out this year, and it was a quick in and out!!!! All those bargains in the shop, I'd have loved to have looked at the garden centre too, maybe get some more geraniums, red and white ones. Still - I was so grateful to Anne for taking me there in the first place, I could hardly complain about not being able to go shopping. I think I may ask Emily if she felt brave enough to take me to the shop but I've got to sweet talk my neighbour, Richard, to cutback the brambles at the top of the drive, it's encroaching the drive and is scratching cars. If I do get out - get ready for some pictures!!!
I hope you are all well and that you have a lovely weekend. Let's hope the sunshine stays here but please bring some warmth with it!! Take care of yourselves.
