Mandi has snow in Turkey - I have none!!!!
Mandi told me yesterday that there is snow in Bodrum!!! Now only a few days ago, she and Dogan were sitting outside on the patio in temperatures of 22C, and suddenly there is snow. It's such an oddball thing to happen that the tv stations were all talking about it. So I was able to get quite a lot of pictures. Mandi doesn't get out and buses weren't getting down to her area, despite the fact that the snow didn't get there neither!!!

So a video had been taken about the road behind where she lives - it shows that there was quite a heavy snowfall, so strange.

Then she told me about how people were actually making snowmen in the gardens!!! Something that a lot of the children had no knowledge of doing before. It's really strange, because I live a lot nearer the Arctic Circle than she does and no snow is here at all - okay it's very cold, but not even a frost!!!

I've also heard that Istanbul has had an incredible amount of snow, to the point of roofs collapsing under the weight of the snow!!! This climate change is certainly going silly. Considering Turkey had temperatures of 45C in the summer and now it's -3C. In my south west part of the UK, we had a high of 25C in the summer and it's been around 4C this winter!! How mixed up is this?

Mickey went to the hospital again yesterday and had lots of tests by consultants who will let him know what they found by the end of the week. It really knocked him sideways - all those tests, so he's resting now. I'll keep you all informed as and when I have any news. Anne, my neighbour, is resting (although she's finding it difficult because she's a workaholic) so hopefully she'll recover quickly. If it was anything other than COVID, she'd soldier on, doing things for everyone, so in a way I'm glad it is COVID, because she can't go near people!!!

Okay folks, no jewellry today - Emily came to do my housework, and we chatted a lot too, catching up on things. She's an absolute boon to me. I wish I could have her more days, but (a) I can't afford it and more importantly (b) she doesn't have the time to do more!!! Stay safe everyone, and if you have snow where you are - take care and make sure you don't fall.

No snow for us today! Maybe over the weekend. Mandi is probably glad for the change. Though for her the temps are very cold.
Do let us know how Mick is. I have been concerned about him.

Yes for Mandi, it is extremely cold. Her house doesn''t have central heating, it has marble floors, single glazed windows and I don't think it has wall insulation - so it's really cold there. Of course I'll keep you informed of how Mickey is doing. I'm concerned about him too.

Ja, het is Albert. Over de hele wereld zijn er barre weersomstandigheden, of het nu te warm of te koud is, te winderig, te nat of te droog. Ik hoop dat het zichzelf snel oplost.

Wow, unusual for that part of the world. Nice photos.
This is going to happen more and more unless the powers that be start caring about our planet the way most of us already do.

Fingers crossed for Mickey. Hopefully they can sort him out and get him more back to normal.

Jenny McIntyre replied to Bee Orchid:

The powers that be are only interested in money and they think that this situation will take a while, and they want to get their money and they'll probably be dead when it becomes really bad.

I'm hoping that the doctor's get him sorted too. It's not usual to see him looking so thin and I worry about him. I hope they do something so he can start going for walks again.

I loved this post, Jenny! So interesting to see snowfall in a place that doesn't get snow. Yeah but climate change isn't real! LOL, what's with people denying what's in front of them, anyway?! Loved the video, thanks for sharing. All of the pictures were super to see too.

Sorry to hear about Mickey...I hope he's ok...and your neighbor too. *sigh*

It's a lovely, very cold day here! So much frost this morning, brrr! We are leaving for our trip on March 1, so it's time to get started with many things! Looking forward to new adventures and feeling better!

Jenny McIntyre replied to Janet Brien:

Lovely to hear from you Janet. Yes it was quite a thing for Bodrum to have snow - there were many videos taken of it and many photos. The only problem is tor Mandi living in a cold house, marble flooring, single thickness walls and single glazed windows. Poor girl, having temperatures below freezing and not having any central heating. At least here we haven't gone below freezing yet.

Yes Mickey has gone back into hospital, he was having a bad time and luckily his daughter was with him, so she called an ambulance and he's off into hospital, and let's hope they find out what's really wrong with him. My neighbour is fine - he might have shown he had COVID but he didn't have any symptoms. He's tested negative now, so that's okay. Oh I can imagine you getting all excited at planning this trip. At least you can put anything directly into the RV when you think of taking things. So much better than when you go away on holiday. I look forward to reading more of your exploits.

Oui, les enfants aiment la neige, mais pas les adultes quand ils ont vraiment froid !!!!
