I saw a commercial last night where a person was saying their Ford car makes them a better drive. Why? Because it tells them when someone is in their blindspot, and will automatically slow down a little if they get too close to another car.
Does this help reduce the chance that a driver will get in an accident? Maybe, but it doesn't make the drivers any better. In fact, I think it does nothing to correct their bad habits. It allows them to drive lazy since the car will think for them.
Maybe they should make a car that tracks how many times a driver cuts somebody off, or almost rear-ends a car, then after it happens X number of times, the car just won't start for them. Instead it just says "go take lessons and come back when you deserve to be on the road".
