Yes, my friends it maybe better to be any other minority group than to be a candid photographer right now. And why not. Candid shooters are an easy target. The established powers and puritan thinkers can't keep children from missing, guns and drugs killing, CEO's from steeling or corporations gouging. But if someone sees their likeness on the internet all those can be forgotten at least until we're all gone then it will be something else like sitting on a bench watching people that will offend someone's sensibilities.
What must these people be thinking? All that candid shooters do is take pictures of people, most likely of the female form, go home and masturbate to said images. It's these sorts of people I figure are the sick ones. Right next to those that think any sexual position other than missionary is perverse.
What the hell world? Candid photographers are making the ordinary and sometimes the exemplary famous for about twenty seconds or all tolled for about thirty minutes if it's a good shot. Then the shot is forgotten or at least until we pull down our pants…NOT! Yes we have a few that appreciate the naturally beautiful more than others. You will find a few in any circle one romes. As a whole we are not perverse, stalkers, spy's or sick. We police ourselves moderately well and really try not to offend anybody with provocative angles or shots. Some of us push the boundaries of the definition of candid so we could be more cognizant of who these photographers are.
In general we appreciate the ordinary, the average and sometimes the different everyday person. We have taken sitting on the park bench people watching to the next level and shared with the rest of the world. So what!
Nobody minds that miniskirts, long hair, high heels, torn tight jeans, a tan fit body suggest a sexual attractiveness yet tells us it's wrong to wear these items but it's wrong to record and appreciate such attire because someone's privacy is offended. Hell! If it is then why don't the puritan police go after these people because their the ones eliciting a responds. Is the next privacy law going to be that we can't be on the street with camera in hand because of the fear someone's going to be in a photo they didn't agree to be in. Will we have to wear sun glasses and blinders so puritans feel more comfortable knowing that no one can look at them. Maybe we should all wear burkas so nobody can look or see anybody in public but blue, black or grey blobs.
What ever country has these types of laws should rethink there enforcement. Where is the line drawn between public and private. Who's freedoms are being infringed upon. Because Candid shooters are in the minority we don't have rights.
Move over GLBT… there's a new dog to kick around.

When will it end? Suddenly we're going to find ourselves forced into a corral. A truck will back up to the space. The tailgate will open up and we'll find someone pointing a machine gun at us……
Is this what freedom has become. Is this what any country who fought for freedom has become scared that someone is offended. I realize that you can't please all the people all the time but this stinks of a small group of people with money who don't want their likeness published for free or caught with their pants down. It is some womens rights group that feel we are subjugating them because we appreciate their form. Actually not theirs because we all know women like these don't get out much if ya know what I mean. Their losing the battle against porn so they're after smaller fish. Candid photographers hate women so much we reduce them to mere subjects of … what I don't know. Oh! I know we caught them without their make up on and now their pissed. Maybe it's Al Quida or religious group who feels that we're steeling their souls with a camera. We are devils aren't we.
Let me tell ya folks nobody gives a damn about how I feel. I have bigger problems than someone taking my picture without my consent. These people that put themselves on a shelf should worry more about Haiti, world peace, etc, etc than me taking their picture.
