Just saw just a tid bite of a report on NBC about how officals can find out who you are by searching the digital information you present to the world. When anyone puts an image out here on the internet they can gleen information on the brand and serial number of the camera used then trace the warrenty to the photographer. I assume this is the exif. data. Right?
Similarly, something like this can be traced back to your cell phone if you use it to take pictures.
If you burn a CD the computer burns the serial number of the burner on the CD. It then can be traced back to your machine. All this because you filled out the warrenty on the machine.
Trust the peole you give CD's to or the music industry could possibly track you down.
The interviewee said that there isn't any where that you can't go and not be seen on a video taped.
So if our lives are on tape and we can be found if need be then none of our lives are private any more. The question is. Is there a difference between the security camrea and the candid camera? Can we trust the security cameras to keep our lives private? Can we trust the operator of the security camera? or does it really make any difference. As long as we're abidding by the laws we have nothing to worry about. Right?
I don't want to be a chicken little here and say we're all doomed but you could see it in an up coming movie plot at a theatre near you.The candid photographer takes picture of beautiful secret agent whos life is compromised because the candid shooter put her image on the internet. It's discovered by a rouge agency who knows where she is now doing her dirty work…
What are your thoughts?
