Helping Out
I have recently been noticing some crews from other areas have been going around and helping out Xcel after recent thunderstorms. Xcel says that there are 22 different companies from 14 other states helping them out. Today I saw a couple Ameren Illinois trucks in a Sears parking lot, along with some trailers. I also saw a couple Xcel trucks zipping by while traveling on the interstate.

This often happened in Michigan during severe winder storms. Consumer's Energy often called it storm duty. During these times, almost the entire office of the pole design department would be completely vacant while helping out after the storms.

Otter Tail's trucks are white with two sky blue stripes along the side.

MDU's are white as well and have the triangular red / orange logo on the front doors.
