Solar Farm .. and ..

not -
pulled over to take shots of the Elon Solar Farm -
noticed the differences in new technology and old towers -
then, after researching more about the Solar Farm -

this is what I discovered -

"Elon University of Elon, North Carolina, is a private liberal arts university, renowned as a national model for its engaged and experiential learning. A mid-sized university (average is 10 students to one Professor), Elon sits on an historic 636-acre campus in central North Carolina which includes the 56-acre Elon University Forest, a land preserve and natural area used for scientific research.

Loy Farm, center for environmental research and sustainability, is also located on Elon’s campus and features a solar farm.
Food grown on the Loy Farm is used locally and also donated to Food Banks."

- from Elon Network Newsletter

One of the most challenging things for Elon University in going as Green as possible ... the architecture is Georgian ... and even though lighting has been changed to be more economic ..
Georgian Architecture wouldn't look good with solar panels !

But, they will work on it !
