Bruce Coaches (National Express contractor) R102 PWR and X20 NAT in Birmingham – 27 Feb 2001 (459-19)

Tuesday 27 February 2001 (approx 1445) – Two Bova Futura coaches operated by Bruce Coaches of Shotts, Lanarkshire seen at Digbeth Coach Station in Birmingham working National Express service 539. There had been heavy snow north of Carlisle the previous day so I don’t know if either coach had worked exactly what they should have due to the bad weather.

R102 PWR, new in November 1997 and with lettering for tour operator David Urquhart Travel, was continuing northbound as the 0810 service from Bournemouth to Edinburgh (due 2055).

In the background is X20 NAT, in full National Express livery, working the southbound 0700 service from Edinburgh to Bournemouth (due 2005).
