jasmine vs street lamp

Plants move so much slower than us that it is hard to even "picture" them in motion ... I love it when a scene like this brings home the fact that plants are not only alive and moving, but are driven by a will of their own. :)

Lovely angle for this fascinating image Annalia, I guess it will eventually block out the street light if left alone but it's a good healthy and strong specimen.
Have a nice weekend

Annalia S. replied to Roger (Grisly):

Thank you, Roger. The plant is part of an overgrown hedge and indeed doing remarkably well despite the heat and draught. I imagine sooner or later someone will trim down the edge and the street lamp will be "saved" but for the time being the jasmine seemed to love its unusual trellis :D

Hi Annalia

A very nice picture, which says so much! It is clearly a modern LED light, so hasn't been there very long, yet the plant is well on its way up there!!

Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

Never seen anything like this before and as you say a plant decides what it wants to do.

I guess the plant figured it made for a very nice "trellis" :D

Impeccable..D'une grande originalité cette ascension végétale. L'énergie naturelle sassocie a l'énergie électrique. Je vous souhaite une bonne soirée et un beau Dimanche.

Love your comment, Malik! "Green" power vs electrical power: It would make a much better title!

Well seen, it's certainly going well - maybe it's attracted to the light.

Annalia S. replied to tiabunna:

I think it just made do with whatever "trellis" iy could find ;)
Thank you and hope you had a nice weekend!

wow - that's some determined jasmine! does the warmth of the light make the smell of the jasmine stronger? i think the jasmine is about to win!!

seen and enjoyed in 'plants vs structures' - thanks for adding!

Annalia S. replied to raingirl:

Thank you, Laura. I thought it would work pretty good for the group.
The light is a led light, so not much heat produced. I think the jasmine just decided it made for a nice "trellis"! ;)
It's been very hot and dry here and there were no flowers left on the jasmine, but it must smell wonderful when it's blooming!
Have a great Sunday!
