The tower consists of four levels, access to the tower is via a spiral staircase with 231 steps which is housed in a buttress. The fourth level is the octagonal spire with two galleries, on which the statue of the Madonna closes the tower upwards. Here is also the highest viewpoint of Bordeaux, which can be climbed over 231 steps of a narrow spiral staircase.
