The Cobb

I couldn't leave Lyme Regis without taking another picture of The Cobb, but this time I was stood on it! Not for long and not very far, but one step at a time!

Very nicely composed. I love the light and the cloud formations. The hint of pink along the horizon is beautiful and also where it's reflected on the surface of the sea. Great to see people out enjoying the sunshine and also to give a sense of scale. The two little birds are just perfect.

It's weird walking on the top isn't it..........it's because of the slope I think.........you always feel you're leaning much more outwards than you actually are!!

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Keith Burton:

Thank you very much Keith. I was lucky to get the birds in. Yes it is the slope that gets me, especially if the wind is in the wrong direction. My daughters walked to the end of it but I met them on the lower level....one step at a time ;-))

A beautiful curve and a beautiful sky. Well worth getting up there for the view. I understand how you feel as I am much the same. I would feel the pull of the slope and would be very nervous. Good for you for giving it a go.

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Jean:

Thank you Jean. Well, I don't think wearing glasses helps. You kind of see to levels...do you know what I mean? One more step next time, maybe ;-))

Nicely atmospheric and an excellent capture Rosa, the fact that it slopes towards the sea and is without handarails is no help

Hi Rosa

Wonderful composition here!!
The curve of the embankment is well balanced by the pink sky on the right, and a couple of seagulls too!

I can see this being mighty dangerous on a wet windy day!!

Best Wishes, a nice week, and stay safe!!
