The school is next to the church and In addition to the yearly Anzac Service in St Johns Church on the Sunday closest to the 25th of April, the children from Sutton Veny Primary School conduct a yearly Commemorative Service in the Cemetery on Anzac Day.

Two great examples of excellent architecture in juxtaposition, Rosa. The upward-looking perspective is very effective in highlighting these two magnificent structures. The commonwealth War Graves are very moving. The Sutton Veny Village website is very interesting. Cheers, Joe

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Joe, Son of the Rock:

Thank you very much Joe. The church grounds are very much higher than the pavement, which is a big help in getting this perspective. Yes so moving. It would be difficult leave without feeling the sadness and waste of war. Cheers, Rosa.

It's a lovely church and memorial. I can hardly bear to look at the gravestones. They are beautifully looked after and in a lovely place but so many young people had short lives and died far from home. Take care and have a good week

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Jean:

It is very moving Jean. I have never come away without a tear in my eye. What seems even worse is that many survived the war, only to be struck down with Spanish flu.
Stay safe and have a good new week.

Very beautiful church and beautiful homage to these Australians who died so far from their native land

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Nouchetdu38:

It is very sad Nouchet, and so moving to read the gravestones. They were so young.
Take care and have a good week.
