A view from the mill window.

Across the River Stour from Sturminster Newton Mill.

042 Derek Kinzett

I saw what I think is a Derek Kinzett wire sculpture along the river footpath. A nice touch, holding the bird feeder.

024 Stur mill edited-2

A multi-span bridge, dating from the late C15 or early C16; widened in the C17. It has traffic lights as it is only wide enough for cars going one way.

Terrific collection of images from this mill Rosa, but you have excelled with the main image. The reflections, light, colours and perspective are spot on, congratulations.

All the best, Doug

Very kind of you Doug, thank you. I think the sky helps a lot with the main picture.

All the best, Rosa.

I love all three of these images Rosa..............but the main one is just outstanding! Beautifully composed under an awesome sky, with lovely colours and reflections. Great work..!!

The wire sculpture is really lovely. I'd love to see a large version of the multi-span bridge, I think it would be excellent.

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Keith Burton:

Thank you for your kind compliments Keith. I must admit I was pleased with the sky!
Have have previously taken a closer picture of the bridge. I am away for a few days but I will look it out when I'm back. I once saw an exhibition of Derek Kinzett's wire sculptures in Lacock Abbey and always liked them, so was delighted to spot this one. Actually there was another at the other end of the balcony but I couldn't get a clear shot of it.
