The Works at the stadium. H. A. N. W. E. everyone!

From another side.
I type this as news filters through that Real Madrid's greatest rivals, Barcelona have just been astonishingly flattened 8:2 by Bayern Munich in the European Cup quarter-finals. The cheers could be heard all through the Madrid evening air as every Bayern goal went in!

Andy Rodker replied to José Manuel Polo:

I thought the same at the time. Valverde is a fine and honest manager. He was badly treated. 2:8 wouldn't have happened with him. (Not that I blame Quiqie Setién. The poor man had no chance). A great manager needs 5 years to create a great team. No chance these days.

Andy Rodker replied to Xata:

I love the romance and history of certain sports, Isabel: cricket - I have a good historical knowledge of the game around the world, football, rugby and tennis (the game I played most of all). Sporting are a noble club and respected round the world. So why the term 'masochism'? Ok, so they haven't won the European Champions League ... but only 21 clubs have! (I'm guessing here!).

Xata replied to Andy Rodker:

Because we are the traditional opponents to the Benfica and Benfica almost always wins. That is why we say that happiness for a Sporting fan is when Benfica looses, no matter against who!!!
It is like Real vs Barça thing.
When I was young the two regional enemies where Farense vs Olhanense. Derbys used to end in street fights and I loved to use my fists!!!!! I was a young bully when it came to football...

They seem to be managing to come along quite well, over the last few weeks. The score of 2:8 for Bayern Munich and Barcelona, sounds as if it was a good game.

Real and Barça out ! That’s really surprising. Could be the end of an era of european football. 8: 2 that’s not only a defeat, that’s disastrous ! And to get out against Lyon is also not a ‚glory sheet‘ ! Anyway: I wish you a nice weekend and send you many greetings from Frankfurt !
