All granite

Sierra de La Cabrera, Madrid Province.
As I have said many times; it's great to have this magnificent resource so close to a major city - and yet very few of my Spanish students in Madrid know about it! Lucky me!

Andy Rodker replied to Thérèse:

Therese, un grand merci!
I love the rock. I did rock climbing and mountaineering in my teens and twenties, but not to a high level. I climbed in France; Verdon, Les Calanques, Dentelles de Monmirail, Rocher Saint Julien (Nyons), Solutre, some climbing areas in the Lyonnais but I forget their names, once bouldering at Fontainebleau ... and the UK; Derbyshire Peak District, Wales, Lake District, Skye, and Cornish sea cliffs.
All long ago, but I love to connect with the hills and the rocks and I enjoy scrambling in granite (and limestone) areas to this day - and these days I take a camera - I never took photos in the old days!
All best wishes - have a great weekend,
Andy

... oh all right then.
:o)
Actually, it matters not, Rosa. Spanish walkers need there to be a jolly good restaurant half way along any route. I'm not kidding; this is an absolute must!!!
I say I take a picnic and they look at me with a mixture of horror and pity, even when I show them a pic of my picnic table! You know, this one: www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/43653618/in/album/1040438
There are no restaurants of any kind up here!!! The place is
ALL MINE!!!
ALL MINE!!!
