A view from Essex

Here is a photo from 2014, taken near the village of Bradwell-on-Sea. The star of the show undoubtedly is ‘The Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall’. It is a Christian church dating from the years 660-662 and among the oldest largely intact churches in England. It is in regular use by the nearby Othona Community, in addition to Church of England services. It is a Grade I listed building. See PiP

Nice full screen, enjoy the day.

Good that you followed the lines here Gordon. I did not know that you came from there. A fine county but not the Dales.

It's hard to imagine something that old Herb! What a lovely shot. All alone now, but I wonder what the community was like around there in the early days! Love the PiP too.
Sunday greetings, Rosa.

Herb Riddle replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Yes, it is pretty old by any standards Rosa. I have shots from inside too which was plain but practical. Glad you enjoyed this oldie.

Marvellous sweeping lines in the harvested crop. I'm suitably amazed by the age of the church, old even for your part of the world (let alone here).
