Nice shot Herb. I like the shadows on the right particularly. I hope the lovely weather continues here as I'm away for a few days next week....Rosa.

Herb Riddle replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Thank Rosa. The shadows are caused by the front old-barn conversion over-hangs. There were seven Gites in here but we were the only occupants for most of the time. It would have been nice to get the Milky way on here too but alas it was in the other much brighter direction.
Enjoy your break and may the sun forever shine on you, Herb

Herb Riddle replied to Daniela Brocca:

Thanks Daniela. A French cottage (Gite) is what we stayed in here. Glad you liked this starry sky.

Herb Riddle replied to Steve Paxton:

Hi Steve and many thanks for your very generous comments on this one. After seeing many of your own stunning night shots, I am afraid this pales in comparison but I am truly delighted with your encouraging remarks here and am very glad you like it. Good too that you enjoyed the alternative views in in Pips, again, not without help from yourself of how to do that.
Cheers my friend, Herb

An excellent night time image Herb................very well put together! I love the contrast between the dark sky and the light in the foreground.

Herb Riddle said:

Thanks Keith. Yes it seems that no matter how good the stars are, it is the foreground earthly view that grabs our attention. Even the best Milky Way or Aurora Borealis needs to have that foreground to make them stand out. A great memory already for me.
