Ich muss gestehen, dass ich damit schon eine Weile abgeschlossen habe. Ich bin aber froh, dass es PA gab und ich dort eine Menge wirklich netter Leute kennengelernt habe. Und meine Fotos sind auch besser geworden ;-)). Zurück würde ich nicht mehr wollen. Technisch ist ip Klassen besser.

Indeed Amelia. The photo layer on GE was a real treasure and always the first address for trip planning.

hab's auch heute bemerkt, und was in Google Earth noch zu sehen ist, ist zum großen Teil Schrott. Hab noch probiert, Fotos in G-maps einzufügen, aber komme damit nicht klar. Google empfinde ich als elende Krake mit vielen Tentakeln, die mehr oder weniger zufällig sichtbar werden, wobei ich nicht erkennen kann, wann und wo und wie sie saugen.

So ist es Volker, mich stört auch das erratische Verhalten. Dauernd wird alles wieder geändert, alle Konstanten sind variabel ;-))

Was nun wohl aus GE wird ?
Früher hab ich alle Reisen mit GE geplant, wegen der informativen Fotos.
Mittlerweile schau ich gar nicht mehr rein.

Genau Heidi, Reisen planen immer mit GE, das ist nun vorbei, jedenfalls da wo es Streetview nicht gibt. Und was aus dem neuen GE wird muss man abwarten. Bei Gugel weiß man halt nie ...

So very sad.
I opened a Google + account for the sole purpose of having my photos transferred when the time came - this had been promised us and we were told that this would be done automatically. We didn't have to worry! Weasel words!
I don't use Google + but because of this promise I certainly had an account open, ready and waiting. I haven't looked into my Google + account since then. But according to Google's promise, I will open my Google + account, for the first time, in the next few days, and expect to find my Panoramio photos there.
Surely not unreasonable!
If I do, then great! Google have upheld their promise!
However, If I can't find them (which I find hard to believe), I will be looking for a firm of solicitors eager for a pro bono and 'group' case to get my photos back.
I knew this is what would happen.

... good luck Andy. I, for my part, will never rely on google again. I believed in "Don't be evil" but they fooled me big time and that was it. I will still use them for my benefit e.g. by using Start Page for browsing the internet. .

I never really trusted Google after they killed Google Reader and upset a lot of writers, journalists, archivists, etc back in 2012 or 13.
Anyway I went into my Google + account for the very first time. I entered Panoramio Andy Rodker and got ONE photo, in someone else's account (but at least it was attributed to me!), and that was it! The other 8,000 odd photos are now in the ether!
They are liars, cheats, thieves and bullies. And that is me being charitable! :o(
