Well the warm weather is over for a while.....
We had some glorious weather these past few days - such a contrast compared to the cold spell we'd suffered since February. Still I suppose all good things have to end or at least pause, otherwise we wouldn't be so in awe of it.

I don't know if having the warm February caused the plants in my garden to really flourish, but this year has seen the blossom and wild flowers go into overdrive. I've never seen this apple blossom outside my lounge look so beautiful and I've been taking loads and loads of picture of it - yes really !!!!!

Now the cherry blossom has finished, the lilacs are making up for it, as is the laburnum. I thought I'd take a sort of panorama of the view I have from my lounge....

It's a bit squashed, but the beauty is there - apart from a large pittisporum bush which needs to be trimmed. It's an evergreen so it doesn't seem to have any flowers or anything beautiful apart from the tiny curly leaves.

I am just in awe of this beauty - wish it had a strong scent but it doesn't - not even in the evenings. So I'll just have to make do with the view instead. The apples on this tree have so far been crab apples - so not good eaters, but hopefully now the tree has matured, it just might give me apples that I can either cook or eat.

Now I have the yellow rain of the laburnum coming out - I could get drunk on having this amount of beauty surrounding me. It's such a pleasure just looking out the window.

Unfortunately the weathermen say that we can expect rain and cooler temperatures for the next week - this week we had 23C and now it's going to drop to 13C!! It's not fair, I was really getting used to not having to wear jumpers and thermal vests!!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter, but there have been some awful tragedies in this world. We must all try and rise above that and just look after ourselves and our friends and neighbours.

The view is beautiful and as I have said before, will be difficult to replace. Our weather too has bounced. Today 25 tomorrow 15.. Soon Mandi will be there! Have you rented a car yet?

Jenny McIntyre replied to Gracie:

Yes you're quite right Gracie - it will be very difficult to replace - but this beauty only lasts a couple of months so for the rest of the year it's just green. In Turkey, the bouganvillea lasts from March to November, and the colours are just sublime. Yes today I've got my jumper on again, damn. Mandi will be here a week on Friday and yes I have already rented a car for 8 of the days she's here, and I've arranged for it to be dropped off at the airport, so that's a journey we don't have to make other arrangements for.

As always youhave A wonderful cllection of colour to view. Here too we are promised four days of rain but with higher temperatures.
Yes Easter was horrible, nothing but one disaster after the other.

Still you have something to look forward too on 28th in Azerbaijan for the F1 GP.

Jenny McIntyre replied to Stormlizard:

We had rain here today and it was quite a shock to the system really. It became much cooler all of a sudden - a drop of 10C in a day is quite a lot.

Yes I'm looking forward to the next race in F1. I'll have Mandi here which I'm really looking forward to

Beautiful views Jenny. It's already cooler here and definitely looks like rain. The garden will enjoy it, even if we don't.

Jenny McIntyre replied to Bee Orchid:

Yes the rain has already come Fran, it's certainly cooler, got the jumper on again. The garden does look as if it's enjoying the rain, and I don't mind it too much as I don't go out. However now the grass will grow even faster with the rain on it!!!!

Such beauty, Jenny! I’m so happy that you have such a wonderful view to wake up to each day. The trees and flowers where I live have gone into overdrive after an exceptionally cold winter also. I hope it warms up again very soon for you; it’s always a bummer when you get a taste of mild temperatures only to get cold again. :-)

How wonderful that Mandi will be back for a visit! I hope the weather warms up again very soon!

Jenny McIntyre replied to Valfal:

Yes I'm very fortunate to have this beauty to wake up to - although unfortunately all this will be gone in about a month.

I'm hoping it will get warmer too - and hopefully by the time Mandi comes, it'll be warmer, otherwise she'll be asking if she can borrow my jumpers!!!
