Uneventful
In the main, an uneventful week. I managed to work 2 hours overtime. Not a lot, however I will get 4 hours overtime for working bank holiday Monday, all being well. This will be my 6th day in a row, so I'll be shattered afterwards lol. Customers were mostly good, just the odd screamer or two - kids that is.

When my son was very small, we used to shop in a large Safeway I think it was. For a small amount of money, we could leave him in a creche to play with other kids. There was no way to 'escape' and he always seemed to have a good time. We'd frequently complete our shopping, lock it in the car, then have a relaxing coffee on our own in peace and quiet. We'd then get our son released lol, then let him have a drink in the coffee shop as a treat. Ah, those days are long gone.

Most supermarkets, including the one I work in, either don't have a cafe anymore, or they closed them down. Certainly no creche! Many have also closed down the 'counters' so everything is prepackaged and you can't buy a small amount, of anything! We don't have a veggie store in town, possibly due to the proliferation of supermarkets, and we don't have a decent deli. How I miss that about Cardiff - capital city of Wales, and the place I, mostly, grew up in. I sometimes think about going back, and I miss my sis and my best friend, however I don't care for the politics of the place anymore and it seems to be going to dogs way faster than England. Just don't get me started about Scotland...

I was going to mention Ofgem, but the whole sorry sittuation just makes me so angry...

On a lighter note, the weather has been glorious. Not too hot, but nice and sunny and fantastic for drying laundry outside. I love air-dried laundry, and sunshine is free! On that note, no free food this week though work is still supplying breakfast fodder, and tins for lunch. As mentioned before, too heavy for me though I'm sure many appreciate it. I had hoped to get some free flowers. They were out the back in a water trough as the date on them had passed. I asked for some, only for the colleague to price them up. At least they were half price, and after a good trim, still look lovely. Free would have been better LMAO

Beef pie for dinner today, with mashed potato and veggies. Yum! We only eat half the pie between us, it's a big pie, and will enjoy leftovers on Tuesday with some chips. I make a good pie...

Have a good week. Take care if going out, could be crowds out due to the lovely weather forecast for the bank holiday.

It was a bit mean to price up the flowers, which were only going to be chucked out anyway!! You seem happier doing the job you've been doing lately - not worth going for another job, if it means you're going to have to cope with "attitudes!".

Yes the weather has been better - although today it's been overcast all day until about 10 minutes ago. Going by the webcam at Westward Ho!, there were a lot of people swimming in the sea pool, I really miss not having a swim - it's about 3 years since I last went for a swim.

Your supper sounds great, I've ordered some mince to do Spaghetti Bolognese, but may end up making something else instead!!!!

I remember the creche and cafe's - I think my local shop still has the cafe but it's been a few years since I was last there - so maybe they've stopped it. Take care and enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend, even if you are working it.

Thanks Jenny. I thought so! No, I'll try and stick to this job. My colleagues are mostly nice, and I know what I'm doing.

Oh, these days I wouldn't swim in any rivers or the sea. The water companies are successfully turning them all into cesspools. Disgusting of them!

We love spag bol, though usually have it as cannelloni, with salad. Hope you enjoy it.

Yes, Covid has destroyed so much these past few years, with the help of the government of course.

Sounds like a nice, quiet week. Thats good in my opinion. To the best of my knowledge, we never had cafes in the grocery. I assume creche is like a daycare? To me you say creche and my mind conjurs the manger Jesus is said to have laid in. None of that. If ever anything similar it would have been eons ago.
Beef pie sounds yum.

Thanks Gracie. Yes, it's a place to leave small children, and they mind them for you. The one my son used to go to was great. Not seen one of those in such a long time. Now, we all have to put up with children misbehaving in the store because they're bored/tired/hungry...
It was yum!
