I often like to abstract reality in my photographs. But light is the main thing that I look for.
Being under the weather today I struggled for inspiration. As the gray morning led to mottled light in the afternoon, a bit of defined shape thrown into my image appealed to me.
I had intended to take a variation of a self portrait for the special day, but instead I was just a low energy reflection of myself and so picked the flower photo for my main submission.

Thank you for your hard work in organising the World Photography Day event (along with others, I believe). It's fascinating to learn how others approach the taking of pictures.
Hope you feel better soon.
