The brand “Specialità Caffè Hausbrandt” was founded in 1892 in Trieste, establishing itself as the first Italian coffee roasting company. Hermann Hausbrandt, a captain of the Austrian Merchant Marine, started a business that roasted and sold coffee in Trieste.
