Penedos, Life...

As you might know we had a general blackout which affected the whole Iberian Peninsula all day yesterday. In Penedos light just came back today at 01:14 am, so no communications at all yesterday, a strange experience, candle lights in the evening and news only on car radio.
This made me realize how people un Cuba are living, they have been experiencing successive blackouts…

After 14 hours without it came back, everything working again. Here in small villages we have alternatives… people who live in big cities panic a lot, seem there has been a rush for toilet paper like in covid times, I really don’t understand why this is a priority, as long as we have water and soap !
Thanks for your concern, merci, obrigada

Causes are not yet known... well candlelight was fine, no communications too, if one takes it as a break to reflect on how lucky we are to have all this modern stuff to serve us !
As long as we have water and some way to ccook whatever food we can have it is fine. I grew up without electricity and I still remember what our luxuries could be: a petromax was a must !

A lovely photo of "everyday things" Isabel.

I've been following the story of the power cuts in our news..........but no one seems to want to comment on the causes yet!

I hope it doesn't happen again...........but I've a feeling that it won't bother you too much if it does :-))

Pleased life is returning to normal Isabel,
Throwing out the old and replacing with new technology is always a risk, and they are also at risk from those with less than good intentions.
The soft light of candles sound relaxing!
