So pretty, snake skins. We are virtually in a natural zone here, and there are plenty of extremely venomous snakes in the vicinity. Eastern brown snakes and Red bellied blacks are common. Fortunately they are quite shy…unless provoked. Their venom is lethal. I love to find their shed skins…..
Love to you, Isabel

Xata replied to Diana Australis:

Here in my area we are lucky, we don’t have venomous snakes (they have venom for rats and other rodents but not harmful to humans). I love snakes but most people hate them, kill them. I am often called to get rid of them when they enter homes, I pick them and take them back to nature. They bite if you don’t pick them up in the right way, but it is not very painful and goes away within days.
Big hugs Diana, love to you too.

In the UK and Norway adders/vipers are quite common and are venomous but not too seriously so. I am still wary of them mind you, but love finding them and just watching them quietly. So nice to find a sloughed skin.

Xata replied to Amelia:

In our peninsula there are vipers too, dangerous ones, but not in my area.

The sloughed skin looks like it was on quite a long snake Isabel.........but there's still not enough to make you a pair of shoes :-))

Two lovely photos though.........both nicely taken..!

Xata replied to Keith Burton:

Shoes are made killing the snake and treating the skin like for other leather …LOL !
