One I would like to try.
I asked a wineshop owener in Madrid if he had any Portugese wines (he did have a wide variety including some international wines) and he, seeing as I told him I was English snorted and said the equivalent of "Phah! Don't waste your money on that rubbish!"
I said Portugal produced some of the worlds finest wines, both red and white I also said that Portugal had a greater number of grape varieties producing interesting wines than anywhere else on the planet!
He got angry. Said I didn't know what I was talking about, Spain had the best winesin the world. The English only drank beer so what did I know?
I never went back..
