Three-Tiered Meru in Pura Melanting

A three-tiered Meru, known as Meru Tumpang Tiga, is a significant structure in Balinese Hindu temples, symbolizing the three worlds (Bhur, Bwah, and Swah) and the Tri Purusha (Parama Shiva, Sada Shiva, and Shiva). It represents a connection between the earthly realm, the heavens, and the divine.

Thank you for the information. It seems that in Bali, only a handful of temples are open to tourists. The ones I visited were picture-perfect in architecture, but with all the spirit carefully removed—just some staged performances to fill the silence. Perhaps the locals wisely keep the real rituals, the genuine spiritual fire, far from our curious eyes.
