Temple inside the Sangeh Park

The meru towers, or pelinggih meru, are easily recognised with their pagoda-style, multi-tiered roofs that diminish in size as they ascend.
The tiers, known as tumpang, are nearly always oddly-numbered, going from one to as high as eleven levels, but here shown with nine roofs.
The meru with nine levels is dedicated to nine gods. The nine gods are known as Dewata Nawa Sanga (the nine guardians of the compass).
This temple is a pilgrimage site within the Sangeh Monkey Park.
