Fire damaged moorland

This is the North side of the Longdendale Valley near Crowden.

The photograph taken from the Wildboar Clough path on the south side of the valley. Torside Reservoir below is hidden by trees.

The burnt moorland starts above the drystone wall which on this side acted as a firebreak as the prevailing wind was taken the fire up hill.

The affected area is all North and West and the other side can be seen Herb Riddle’s photo

Such a shame that the landscape has been partly decimated by the fire, but good to see there is plenty of untouched landscape left, and very beautiful it is too! Very nicely captured Colin.
