Several of the hospitals in the south have reported they are struggling to cope with hundreds of 999 calls from people having heat-related problems. There are also reports of critical equipment breaking down due to the heat and patient and staff suffering in dangerously hot conditions in wards with no air-conditioning and windows that don't open!

We're on the way to becoming a third world country..!!

I have to report that A&E was very busy this afternoon as I walked past all the ambulances bays in use and corridors busy. Some how I did get an easy car park space
