The end of the third tree branch from the top is pointing to the ‘hole in the wall’

This used to be just that a gap in the drystone wall for access. Last time I made it there it had become a wooden stile and today it looks to be the same.
This the Patterdale - Grisedale - Striding Edge path to the top of the Fell (mountain) called Helvellyn.
This weekend there is a Triathlon event a 1.5km swim in the lake (Ullswater) a cycle element on normal roads including ‘The Struggle’ and Kirkstone Pass which goes around Helvellyn close to 60Km and then yes they RUN up the mountain and down again to finish said to be around 15km.
