Yes it was cold today, and likely to get even colder tomorrow. The animals and plants must wonder what is going on. Yesterday afternoon was very warm here, but gardening here this afternoon was finger numbing..

Well spotted Colin...........and nicely captured. Its head is nicely sharp, especially considering the distance. It looks a bit low in the water........maybe it had just had some fish for lunch?

Just about to dive, a second later it was gone. Shame it was such a miserable day plenty of nice birds around.

If you get back that way again, you may be lucky to spot their mating dance. I've seen it on TV lots of times but I've never been around to get a photo.

It was one of the things we know has been reported there and as there were 8 birds they were very vocal at times.
