My great grandfather had one right up until the 70s. his son and grandson kept trying to persuade him that, as still the chaiman of the company he founded, he should at least get something more swish, or a chaufeur and Daimler, etc. But he refused and drove it until I think from memory 1973 when medical advice finally put paid to his being a considerable danger to the public! (well he was already 92 by then!)
So a (sort of) nostalgic shot for me Colin and I like it a lot!
A similar memory prompted me to snap this car. My Uncle Billy was the one still driving one and took us for a drive and as we rattled along said “no shock absorbers” proud as Punch. Quite a contrast for us as Dad had driven us to Tyneside in a brand new Ford Capri :-)
