This is a main road overpass in Xian, China. The overpasses serve 2 sets of users…pedestrians, and the thousands of electric motor bikes which use outermost lanes of the roadways. Here I am going down on a pedestrian escalator taking the photo of the e-bikes using the bike ramps opposite. The overpass itself is about 2 lanes wide, and pedestrians and bikes are able to safely cross the very wide and busy roads below. Very necessary to be able to cross at all!
