Pamir Highway HFF

We travelled for 2 days along the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan at 3700-4300meters in altitude. This is the Great Fence of China, the border marker, snaking its way into the endless distance. The dirt track is the Highway as we head towards the high altitude border with Kyrgyzstan. We could travel a couple of hours without seeing any traffic, then a half dozen Chinese giant doubles would come rumbling across the horizon carrying heavy cargo through.
A happy, joyous Friday to you. Stay well. Not too hot. Not too wet. Have an exceptionally fabulous weekend.
D❤️

Stunning wilderness, and I'm not sure what that very long fence is for. There doesn't seem to be any livestock in the area.
HFF, Diana and enjoy the coming week.

Diana Australis replied to Amelia:

It is merely a statement by China…the wall. This is our border…keep out!

Looked at the fence wide, seems easy to trespass... but do people?
Love this mineral wilderness, suits me.
Too hot these days here, noral time for the season, bloody August is there and people crowding everywhere, even in my lost village uphills... 31 days to go...
HFF Diana, all the best for you and family.

Diana Australis replied to Xata:

There is no one up there apart from odd herders. They do trespass..it is not guarded…imagine several hundred km of fence at 4000 meters in the wilderness..even the Chinese cannot be bothered with that as there is no threat.
So sad you are crowded out. That is why we go for holidays to very remote and secluded places. Mass tourism is sad to see and uncomfortable to experience. We have no wish to participate.
Hope it begins to cool for you ..lots of love..,❤️
