The end of the road 1

HFF or stone wall Friday. A small home at the end of a torturous 6 hour high altitude track in the Chipurson Valley, North Pakistan. At 4000 meters in altitude, surrounded by 6-7000m peaks, it marks the end of a road, right at the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan where Tajikistan and Pakistan almost meet. It is uninhabited except for high altitude summer pastures for yak and goats, and for a Shia Sufi shrine which is visited on pilgrimages by inhabitants of North Pakistan. Locals also sometimes walk over the very high mountain passes into Afghanistan or Tajikistan to meet relatives and family members in the largely Ismaili communities on the other sides of the border. The mountains in the picture are Afghanistan

Have a fabulous Friday and an exhilarating weekend. ❤️

The house seems to perform a useful purpose most of the year round Diana. I love the detail you've captured in the stonework and the mountainous background is truly magnificent.

It sounds quite a trek Diana, but must be worth it to see relatives for the people of the region. A superb shot and the mountains look beautiful.
HFF and a good weekend.

Fabulous landscape Diana and as Roger says the notes are fascinating. What a trek these people must have to visit their loved ones. We take so much for granted today don't we?

Beautifully captured. Have a great weekend. HFF

An aura of medieval periods.

I never thought tourists visit these places, by reading news, and when "Afghanistan" is mentioned, all that I can think is violence, terrorists and religious fanatics.

Thanks for the post. and HFF
