Dry dam

I'm not able to do much photography lately, so this is from a dip into the archives - and my first digital camera. It shows a dam on our former rural property during what became known as the "Millenium Drought" which ran from about 1998 to 2009. The very minimal fence around the dam was needed to stop cattle entering and potentially becoming bogged. It worked well, helped by 10,000V and the cattle stayed out. HFF and best wishes for the weekend, everyone.

Great shot, George!
Amazing that plants - even if sparse - still thrive despite such drought.
HFF and best wishes for the weekend also for you both.

To think we complain about the constant rainfall over here George - it is hard to imagine such long periods of drought. It turned your dam into a little oasis! HFF and have a good weekend

We have the same here: no rain at all... dams at less than 40% and dry season arriving...
HFF George, hoping the best for both of you.
