st andrew's / eglwys dewi sant /cardiff

church built 1860-3 in the middle of st.andrew's crescent, design by pritchard and seddon, though finances ran low half way through, and the upper parts were finished by roos, and butterfield added low transepts, porches and vestries c.1884-6 . it is now the capital's church for services in welsh. a dull building lacking fire when its position called for a centrepiece: oh that pilkington had been given this site rather than the one he got down the road.....
