worn c12 doorway, now in west face of c12 tower, the original portions very much on their last legs. the victorians would have given us a crisp new copy, but what will this century do when confronted with this problem ? is it better to have a copy of a copy of a copy, and risk the disneyfication of our churches, or would a modern interpretation of old forms be more honest ? though truth is not always beauty by any means....
