known sometimes as the angel baptist church, this little chapel was built as providence chapel in 1824 on the new river estate for calvinist methodists, since when it has changed sect many times. the words "church not as usual" can be made out over the portico, and it may no longer be a chapel at all, as there seemed no notice of services.
