mausoleum of 1909, designed by darcy braddell for ludvig mond, lord melchett, a rich german industrialist who made vast sums from his lancashire chemical works, giving his splendid art collection of early italian paintings to the national gallery. the mausoleum is based on the greek temple of nemesis at rhamnus.
